Sergey Lavrov proposed to stop calling countries hostile

On Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with the heads of Russian non-profit organizations. He is sure that there is not a single nation on Earth that is hostile to Russia. But he still called on representatives of “public diplomacy” to help him get the West “out from under the problem.”

– In principle, I am in favour of describing the governments of a particular country as hostile. And the life of every country is determined by the life and aspirations of its people. “I do not see a single people on Earth that would be hostile to our people a priori,” Lavrov explained.

As for some governments, the minister suggests using a harsher term: hostile: “Look at how the EU treats the Prime Minister of Hungary, the President of the European Union. Simply because he said: we should all be in favour of finding compromises and not solving problems through war. And that is why they are trying to make him a pariah. Yes, we are going through interesting times…”

“EVERYTHING IS ON POINT!”

Before attending this meeting with non-profit organizations, Lavrov read out the latest statements by Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Stefanishina that the Ukrainian authorities do not consider it necessary to respect the linguistic rights of Russian-speaking citizens.

– That’s it – period! As soon as you show this (facts about the rights of Russian-speaking Ukrainians – Ed.) to your Western interlocutor on those rare occasions when we meet somewhere at the UN, they simply leave, speaking Russian, with a snag,” the minister said.

After which he figuratively suggested that everyone gathered try to get the West out of that same problem.

“We have high hopes that non-profit organizations will actively participate in all these processes,” Lavrov said.

OPEN DOORS

It is clear that Western countries are not yet ready for equal and mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia. This was confirmed by the recent NATO summit in Washington. “They are clinging to their previous positions, which are slowly but steadily fading away,” Lavrov is convinced.

It is obvious that the period of formation of a more equitable international architecture will be long. “But we are convinced that the doors to the western part of our continent must remain open,” the minister added.

THE VERY STRENGTH OF RUSSIA

There is an initiative to create an international platform for the protection of traditional values: “This is also our strong point.” More and more people in Western countries agree with the Russian argument.

Elon Musk, Lavrov recalled, is moving to Texas: “Because in California neoliberal values are already out of the ordinary.” And from Europe, many want to escape to Russia “from the attack of the LGBT* community” (recognized as extremist in Russia, banned – Ed.)

– There are already examples of this kind. I am sure there will be more. They will multiply, our minister is sure.

* In Russia, the international movement was recognized by a court as extremist and banned
