The Russian Defense Ministry shows images of the combat work of the crew of the D-30 towed 122 mm howitzer of the Dnieper troop group in the Kakhovka direction in the Kherson region.
“During the next flight over the right bank of the Dnieper, the operator revealed how the enemy crew was preparing to launch a drone. The enemy’s coordinates were immediately transmitted to the gunners. The personnel of the D-30 battery fired at the crew of the identified drone,” commented the objective control personnel of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The military department notes that our artillerymen work around the clock in difficult conditions. It only takes a few minutes to calculate the target configuration and deal fire damage. After shooting, it is necessary to camouflage the position, the weapon and take cover.
The gunners fire accurately from a distance of more than 15 kilometers. The combat speed of the weapon’s crew reaches eight shots per minute. Fire adjustments are made in real time from a reconnaissance drone, which is constantly in the sky.
“Drone performance is evaluated by drone operators. “They say one of our shells hit the shelter door,” says the crew number with the call sign “Local.”
The gunners also accurately attacked enemy armored vehicles and motorboats.
