The premiere of Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice sequel will open the 81st Venice Film Festival, which runs from August 28 to September 7. Curator Alberto Barbera said the film would be a triumphant return for the director and a confirmation of his visionary talent.
Michael Keaton reprised his role as Beetlejuice and Winona Ryder reprised her role as Lydia. The cast also includes Catherine O’Hara, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti, Jenna Ortega and Willem Dafoe. The film hits theaters on September 4.
