“The time has come to create a Space National Guard as the primary combat reserve of the U.S. Space Force,” the politician said, noting that if elected he would sign a “historic law” on the creation of a new formation.
According to Trump, his order creating the US Space Force in 2019 allowed the United States to lead all military forces in space. The Republican said he was proud of the decision.
According to Defense News, the US Space Force leadership plans to continue recruiting military personnel to increase the total number of troops to 9,800 by 2025.
Trump also announced his willingness to invest in the US military. His plans include the development of advanced technologies such as unmanned aerial vehicles, artificial intelligence, robotics and hypersonic weapons.
