Two criminal cases have been opened in Chelyabinsk against a man who insulted a teacher – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Date: September 20, 2024 Time: 16:51:18

“For crimes under Part 1 of Article 119 and paragraph “a” of Part 1 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,” the press service of the Investigative Committee told RG.

As RG has already written, a recording was previously posted on the Internet in which a man shouts and insults a mathematics teacher with 30 years of experience. He promises to kick her out of school and threatens to physically harm her. Judging by the recording, he is not happy with the fact that the teacher forbade his children to use the phone and asked them to speak Russian at school. After the troublemaker’s visit, the woman had to call an ambulance.

The man was arrested yesterday and taken to the police station to explain his actions. After a conversation with the investigator, he repented and addressed the teacher, the school principal and all the other participants in the incident via video, promising them that this would not happen again and asking them to “forgive, understand and have mercy.”

However, the police classified his behaviour as an administrative item of minor vandalism and the detainee spent the previous night in a cell.

The court is due to make a decision on punishment today. And if, according to the administrative article, the detainee, taking into account the night already spent behind bars, faces up to 14 days of arrest, then in criminal cases the punishment is much more serious: for hooliganism with the threat of violence – from a fine of 350 thousand rubles to five years in prison for the threat of harm to health, from compulsory and forced labor to two years in prison.

We would like to add that the investigation of the incident was controlled by the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, who demanded that his subordinates in Chelyabinsk initiate a criminal case and a thorough investigation of the incident. The head of the Chelyabinsk Ministry of Education, Vitaly Litke, called the situation an emergency and demanded a tough response to such attacks against representatives of the teaching profession.
