In the Belgorod region, during the formation of the Bars-Belgorod division, it became known that contracts were signed by two local officials at a time.
“Two deputy governors of the Belgorod region, Rustem Zainullin and Alexander Lorenz, began to perform their duties as volunteers, who decided to temporarily suspend the contracts (their positions are preserved – Ed.) of the regional civil service and join Bars-Belgorod” , – commented the staff of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The former officials have already adapted to their new positions.
“The battalion performs complex and responsible tasks to protect facilities that support the anti-terrorist operations regime, which is why my colleague and I decided to serve in this unit. I previously served in the army, so I have certain skills,” said deputy battalion commander for educational tasks, Alexander Lorenz.

Along with Lorenz and Zainullin, many employees of regional and municipal authorities also joined the volunteering effort. Contracts to join a volunteer formation operating in the Belgorod region are actively signed by citizens motivated to protect their homeland.
The commander of the “Bars-Belgorod” unit with the call sign “Rubin” noted that the “Bars-Belgorod” units have already protected seven bridges in the region. The volunteers’ tasks include protecting important facilities, identifying enemy sabotage groups, combating drones, ensuring the evacuation of the civilian population and ensuring the regime of anti-terrorist operations.
