U2 performed inside the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas. Until now, no musical concerts had been held there, writes Variety.
U2 lead singer Bono called the center’s owner, James Dolan, crazy for implementing the idea of this high-tech venue. It was just completed this summer. The façade of the building consists of LED panels containing 1.2 million lamps. The exhibition area within the sphere reaches 15 thousand square meters. The sound, in turn, is transmitted through 167 thousand speakers. MSG Sphere was valued at $2.3 billion.
“Watching U2 play Achtung Baby was surreal, the performance was like a video with visual effects, but the band was actually playing live. Some, however, will prefer to look at the LED panels instead of the stage,” shared Alex Mitchell of the New York Post.
Recall that previously the charity project ONE Campaign, founded by U2 vocalist Bono, presented the animated series “Pandemica”. It focuses on the important role of vaccination in ending the coronavirus pandemic. The characters were voiced by Bono himself and other celebrities: Penelope Cruz, Danai Gurira, Michael Sheen, David Oyelowo, Wanda Sykes, Nick Kroll, Connie Britton, Patrick J. Adams.
