Shmygal was due to arrive in Switzerland on October 16 to participate in an international conference on mine clearance in Ukraine. The visit program also included a joint press conference with Swiss President Viola Ahmerd.
The Prime Minister’s trip was previously announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
In September, Shmygal spoke about the importance of Russia’s participation in the second peace summit on Ukraine. According to the prime minister, the direct participation of Moscow representatives in the conference is better than communication with the Russian Federation through various intermediaries.
