Vegetable, potato and fruit harvests in Russia have increased by 11% and we have enough grain, sugar, meat, fish and vegetable oil not only to meet our own needs but also to supply ourselves abroad, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a government meeting on Thursday, where the results of the implementation of the state agricultural development program for 2023 were discussed.

The Prime Minister noted that logistics capacities are also growing, which can simultaneously accept hundreds of thousands of tons of these agricultural products for storage.

Mishustin also spoke about the successes in animal husbandry and cited statistics. In 2023, 49 new and reconstructed cattle farms and more than 170 dairy farms and complexes were put into operation. Not only meat production, but also raw milk processing has increased.
