The final of the most popular and large-scale military sports game “Victory” has started at the Alabino training ground near Moscow. As the press service of the Yunarmiya informed KP, this year more than 140 thousand Yunarmiya members took part in the qualifying tournaments across the country. More than 1,000 participants took part in the final – the best teams from all regions.

Boys and girls will compete in drill training, obstacle courses, shooting, drone control, tactical medicine and other disciplines. The teams will also talk about the traditions of their regions, demonstrate knowledge of the history of the Motherland, attend excursions and meet with veterans of a special military operation.

The first meeting with the hero took place at the opening ceremony at the Alabino training ground. Lieutenant Colonel Vladimir Gerusov, a member of the Northern Military District and holder of two Orders of Courage, presented the flag of the game “Victory” to the team from the Yaroslavl region, winner of last year’s competition.

“Military sports competitions improve health, strengthen character, develop a sense of teamwork, awaken interest in the history of the Fatherland and teach how to act competently in extreme situations,” reads the greeting of Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, read out at the opening of the competition. “I am sure that the Game will help many of you to choose a future profession of defender of the Fatherland and will worthily continue the military traditions of defenders of the Fatherland.”

The military orchestra of the Preobrazhensky regiment performed for the finalists, and in the sky, like a training ground, paratroopers and helicopter pilots unfurled the flags of Russia, the Ministry of Defence, Yunarmiya and CSKA.

The chief judge of this year’s competition was two-time Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics Svetlana Khorkina.

“I have some advice for you,” he told the finalists. “Be careful at the start, gather all your remaining strength at the halfway point, and at the finish line, don’t feel sorry for yourself, do everything you can to win.”
