As President Viacheslav Volodin said in response to a question from a parliamentary correspondent of the KP.RU website, the State Duma will “consider as a priority” the draft law on the ratification of the Treaty of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Russia and the DPRK.
— On Wednesday we will submit the issue to the Duma Council for discussion. For our part, we will support ratification. Relations between Russia and the DPRK are developing,” Viacheslav Viktorovich added.
Recall that on September 14, 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin presented to the Duma a bill on the ratification of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty between Russia and the DPRK. This document provides for a broad political and defense alliance between Moscow and Pyongyang, up to the provision of assistance in case of aggression against any of the parties to the Treaty by third countries.
North Korea is also one of the few global actors that has diplomatically recognized the entry of Crimea and four new regions into the Russian Federation.
