Fans are mourning the death of Roman Madyanov, who died of lung cancer. The actor, beloved by millions, passed away at home on the morning of September 25. During his career he played more than 200 roles. It is impossible to forget the heroes of Roman Sergeevich. The artist devoted himself entirely to his profession. Being seriously ill, he continued to work. He stopped going to the set after he could not get out of bed.
Roman Madyanov died of lung cancer at home. In recent weeks, the actor did not get out of bed, could not eat and periodically lost consciousness. Metastases spread to all internal organs.

Doctors could do nothing to help him. He received only palliative treatment. He was not sent to a hospice; the artist was with his loved ones at home.
The actor worked literally until the last day. Currently, more than ten film projects with Madyanov’s participation are in production.
In the series “My Grandfather’s Rules for Men” he got the main role. Roman Sergeevich starred in the project despite a terrible illness. Due to chemotherapy he lost his hair and eyebrows, but he did not complain. He endured while they applied complex makeup: a thick beard, bushy eyebrows and regrown hair. In the story, he played an old-school grandfather. Real, strong.
Looking at the last photo of the star, it is hard to believe that Madyanov was fading away. His serious condition was manifested only by severe swelling.
But the actor often got negative roles. He once admitted that even his son came to him and asked: “Stop playing bastards!” According to the artist, he tried to discern the good qualities of his heroes. The theatre also helped him to distract himself.
“I will play quite a few creatures on the set and return to the theatre. Ostrovsky’s comedy is exciting!… I still consider myself more of a theatre artist,” Madyanov explained.
He has been battling cancer since 2020. The disease either receded or reappeared. This spring it became known that the 62-year-old artist was much worse off. He was hospitalized every month. But until recently he remained silent about his diagnosis. Only the people closest to him knew about the disease.
The farewell ceremony of the Honored Artist of Russia will take place on September 27 in the town of Bronnitsy, Moscow Region. The favorite of the public will be buried at the cemetery in the village of Malakhovo. This is what the actor himself wanted.
