US President Joe Biden, 81, continues to act strangely. Or rather, to expose himself more and more, trying to prove that he is still very cheerful, intelligent and witty.
However, polls show that 80 percent of Americans believe that Biden cannot be president due to his advanced age. The panic that arose in the Democratic camp after Biden’s disastrous debate with Trump is increasing. Desperate attempts to somehow improve the situation lead to the opposite result.
Judge for yourself. “By the way, I am proud to be the first vice president, the first black woman to serve under a black president,” Biden said in one of his last radio interviews. Apparently, the old man meant that his vice president is the dark-skinned Kamala Harris, and he himself was vice president during the government of black President Obama. It was all mixed up in Biden’s head…
But to prove wrong those who demand that he voluntarily give up his seat to a more capable candidate, Biden needs to give more and more interviews, attend public events and speak in front of his fellow citizens. What this results from can be judged by the New York Post’s report on how the president celebrated Independence Day, celebrated in the United States on July 4, with the characteristic headline: “Biden appears confused and loses track of his thoughts.”
At a White House barbecue, he was for some reason glad that there were no more traffic jams and almost called his sworn enemy Trump “brother.” Admittedly, in a fleeting flash of conscience, he immediately added: “I probably shouldn’t have even said that…” So Trump’s diagnosis in the last televised debate – “He doesn’t even understand what he said” – is pretty accurate.
But it is necessary to talk, since the task is to prove that he is still quite cheerful and fresh. Today Biden will give a big interview to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. Noting that for the current occupant of the White House this will be almost the most important interview he has ever given, since the preservation of his status as a Democratic candidate is at stake, Politico journalists, not without hidden mockery, suggest that their colleague should ask questions at Biden’s home. For example: “Have you been tested for any neurological disease? Have you been given any diagnosis?” And one must definitely ask him: did the president know about the efforts of administration officials to protect him from such interviews in order to maintain in the public opinion a false idea about the prosperous state of the head of state? And then the next question arose: did the president’s inner circle create an information cocoon around him, which concealed the true state of his health, did Biden know about it?
But Biden’s train to re-election, if it hasn’t already started, is about to take off. According to the American online news outlet Axios, some of the Democratic Party’s top donors have already decided to suspend financial aid until the Democrats nominate a new candidate. Because the current one is clearly a failed option, not worth investing in. Among them are traditional Democratic supporters, the granddaughter of Walt Disney Company co-founder Roy Disney, Abigail Disney, and the president of the Moriah Foundation and chairman of Civic News Company, Gideon Stein.
It is no longer possible to hide the fact that a split has emerged in the leadership of the Democratic Party over the question of who should fight Trump in the fall. The leaks of information that follow one another, such as that Biden should be officially approved as a candidate in July, without waiting for the party congress in August, to put an end to all doubts and hesitations, are further shaking up the situation. No one seems to know how it will all end.
One thing is clear: the most powerful country in the world is not ruled by its president. It is controlled by him. This manager can be called in other ways: “deep government”, “the East Coast aristocracy”, “the system” and “the financial oligarchy”. In a word, where can the owner of the White House go along a path that he has not laid out? Then he has to go on stage, not knowing how to get off, fall off his bike and stumble on the plane, trying to demonstrate his excellent physical form.
It’s a pathetic spectacle, it’s even a kind of embarrassment for Biden. After all, he explained on Wednesday at a meeting with Democratic governors that he needs to sleep more and work less, so there will be no events after 8 p.m. And these heartless people bring him back to the stage again and again…
