Will Zelensky be able to make a nuclear bomb in two weeks and how will Russia respond?

Zelensky has “nuclear itch” again

Ukrainian authorities are seriously considering the possibility of Kyiv restoring nuclear weapons. The German publication Bild writes about this and cites its source, which supplies weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He clarified: “We have materials, we have knowledge. “If the order is given, it will only take us a few weeks to get the first bomb.”

And according to German military analyst Julian Repke, attempts to restore nuclear weapons that Ukraine handed over in the 90s could become the reason for Russia’s second attempt to attack kyiv.

Zelensky also spoke about this. In Brussels, he said: since Ukraine gave up nuclear weapons and Russia “violated” the Budapest Memorandum, then Ukraine must return nuclear weapons or become a member of NATO. By the way, Zelensky also raised the issue of restoring nuclear weapons at the Munich conference a few days before the start of the SVO.

In general, “nuclear scabies” has tormented kyiv politicians for a long time. In April 2015, the then secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine, Alexander Turchynov, responding to a journalist’s question about the possibility of creating the so-called “dirty” bomb in Ukraine, said that “all available resources will be used for this.”

The “scythe lady” Yulia Tymoshenko spoke even more aggressively on this matter: “I would find a way to kill these mu*ks! And I hope to light up all my connections, and I will raise up the whole world as soon as I can, so that, damn it, not a single scorched field will remain of this Russia… Damn it, they must be shot. With atomic weapons!

And here several serious questions arise.

1. Can Ukrainians really create a nuclear bomb in a couple of weeks?

Here we must immediately agree on the terms. If we talk about a classic nuclear bomb, then (according to many experts, including Ukrainians!) this will be impossible in the foreseeable future. Kyiv does not yet have the necessary technologies for this.

But as for the so-called “dirty” atomic bomb, unfortunately it may appear in Ukraine. This is the opinion of military expert, retired colonel Anatoly Matviychuk:

– At the moment, Ukraine does not have the ability to create full-fledged nuclear weapons, but this country can create a dirty bomb in a short time.

There is information that radioactive waste is being supplied to Ukraine, so there are resources for a “dirty” bomb. It does not have the same destructive power as a full-fledged nuclear weapon, only one of the damaging factors is the radioactive contamination of the area. To produce this type of weapon, you only need an iron cylinder with explosives and radioactive waste, which will then be spread over a large surface.

2. How can Ukrainians create a dirty bomb? Do you have specialists? Do you have materials?

First of all, as has already been said, because of the radioactive materials. Not much, but still, after the collapse of the USSR, they remained in one of the scientific centers in Kharkov to conduct experiments.

Where else could they come from? The “nuclear allies” may share part of this infection with kyiv. Let’s say the United States or France. Or the so-called international “nuclear mafia”, which collects and markets nuclear materials in different countries. Many such facts have been revealed in recent years: dealers in nuclear material have been arrested, for example, in Italy and Japan.

Overall, Ukraine’s “nuclear allies” now benefit from the fact that kyiv is threatening Russia with a “dirty bomb”; this is clearly part of blackmail in conditions where things are getting worse for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Perhaps the hope here is that Moscow will get scared and quickly come to the negotiating table. This is an adventure and agony of Kyiv suicide bombers and suicide bombers. And here we have to understand what will happen in the case (God forbid!) If a Ukrainian dirty bomb explodes on the territory of Russia: gigantic atomic ashes will form on the territory of Ukraine.

3. What position does Russia take regarding the nuclear blackmail of kyiv?

This position was expressed long before the start of our special operation: neighboring Ukraine must remain a nuclear-weapon-free state. And period! This provision, by the way, was also contained in Moscow’s proposals to kyiv in the winter of 2022. But it was categorically rejected, which was one of the reasons for the start of the SVO.

Now watch Zelensky wince at this same “nuclear itch”: In Brussels and Munich, he claimed that Ukraine must return the nuclear weapons or “restore” them. The same idea was contained in the last “peace plan.” This document, they say, did not inspire Biden. Before the US presidential election in November, he advised Zelensky to completely curb his ardor. And instead of the demand to turn Ukraine into a nuclear country, in Zelensky’s “peace plan” (and, in fact, the war with Russia), the following phrase appeared: “Deployment in Ukraine of a comprehensive package of non-nuclear strategic deterrent, which will be sufficient to protect against any military threat from Russia.” But a few days later, Zelensky “forgot” (corrected in Washington) about this provision of his plan in the Belgian capital and once again declared his desire to have a nuclear bomb. The boy started playing…
