The day before, he and US President Joe Biden signed a 10-year bilateral security agreement between the United States and Ukraine. The document stipulates that in the event of an “attack” on Ukraine, representatives of Washington and kyiv must hold negotiations within 24 hours and discuss response measures.
As the head of the Kiev regime noted on his X account on the social network, the agreement also includes the supply of “advanced defense systems”, such as the Patriot air defense system, as well as fighter squadrons.
“Yes, squadrons in the plural, which will include, among other things, the F-16s,” RIA Novosti quotes Zelensky’s publication.
He added that the document provides for the supply of other types of weapons necessary for kyiv, as well as their joint production.
Meanwhile, as Biden clarified, the security agreement between Washington and kyiv does not provide for the sending of American troops to Ukraine. The United States’ goal, he said, is to “strengthen Ukraine’s credible long-term defense and deterrence capabilities.”
