Dragon Ball: Slam Dunk’s Author Redesigns Akira Toriyama’s Volume 17 Cover | The Spaghetti Code

Date: July 6, 2024 Time: 21:40:51

Dragon Ball is celebrating its 40th anniversary since its launch, and Shueisha is preparing something special to celebrate this story created by Akira Toriyama, to honor everything he has done. Several mangaka met to redesign some of the manga covers, and this time it was the turn of another great author, Takehiko Inoue, the author of Slam Dunk.

It’s an event called Dragon Ball Super Gallery, hosted by the publisher, where established authors can contribute and create their own version of one of the 42 manga available, each of which is released monthly until November 2024.

Takehiko Inoue decided to do something special, but without leaving aside the essence that represents this story so strongly, and with the cover of the 17th original manga, it is undoubtedly a great tribute to the entire legacy that Toriyama-sensei left in this world.

It’s clear that Inoue-san brought his own version of Goku and his style is very clear, in the black Capsule Corp. jacket, plus this Saiyan has a more realistic feel and is definitely closer to the original.
