Sochi, orange beach
It is quite difficult to meet dolphins in a popular resort: they do not like to swim near large groups of people. It is even more surprising that in Sochi, where it is never deserted, you can swim within easy reach. It is enough to “rent” a SUP board on the “Orange” beach in Adler early in the morning and go far beyond the buoys. The ideal option is to watch a beautiful southern sunrise with dolphins. There are only three species of dolphins in the Black Sea: bottlenose dolphins, white-sided dolphins and Azov dolphins, and the latter are not dolphins at all, but porpoises. But the joy of meeting them is no less.

Zanzibar Island is known for its beautiful beaches and rich underwater world. Many species of dolphins live here, which have long been accustomed to tourists and are not at all afraid of them. And local diving spots offer to observe whole pods of 20-30 individuals: they will pick you up on the southern coast of the island, on Kizimkazi beach, put you in a mask and fins and tell you how to “communicate” with dolphins under water. At first it can be a little scary, but then it becomes more comfortable and interesting. And for many, such communication causes “tears of happiness” – this is what the phenomenon of sudden joy caused by meeting a pod of dolphins is called.

Hong Kong
Hong Kong boasts of being home to rare species of Chinese white dolphins. But those who have seen them in person notice that they are actually more of a soft pink colour. These unusual animals can be seen in the waters around Hong Kong and at the mouth of the Pearl River all year round. White dolphins are known to be friendly and curious and often approach people, allowing for unique photographs. There are also regular boat tours in Hong Kong where you can observe the life of these amazing creatures.

Amazonia, South America
The Amazon basin is famous for its unique freshwater dolphins. This is the only similar species in the world, which is also distinguished by a pink skin tone. The boto or bufeo as the locals call them, are very social animals. They live in groups, sometimes reaching several dozen individuals. The pink dolphin is able to emit sounds reminiscent of birdsong or the buzzing of insects. This helps them communicate with each other and navigate the murky waters of the Amazon. And tourists can see them from afar while traveling in kayaks and canoes.

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
In the Dominican Republic, off the coast of Punta Cana, lies Dolphin Island, a unique nature park where you can see trained dolphins. This center offers a variety of programs including swimming with dolphins, watching them perform, and educational sessions. The dolphins living on the island were raised at the center and have undergone special training to feel comfortable in the presence of people.
