How Zhamaletdinov caught the Ufa goalkeeper!
On September 7, the “Match of Life” was held in Yaroslavl. Journalist Sergei Ilyev rightly called the match between Shinnik and Ufa a decisive one for both Yaroslavl coach Dmitry Cheryshev and Ufa coach Evgeny Kharlachev.
And indeed, both teams were bottom of the table, so a defeat in today’s match would significantly reduce the coaches’ chances of keeping their jobs.
Shinnik played confidently at home, and Ufa came to the match without their main goalkeeper and leader Oleg Baklov, who, together with the Tajik national team, left for an international tournament. Alexey Chernov was in goal for the Ufa team. For him, this match was the first of the season, and during the last regular season the goalkeeper had only two such matches. This was probably one of the reasons for Ufa’s defeat in Yaroslavl.
Shinnik opened the scoring in the 15th minute after a goal from Zakhar Fedorov. But the highlight of the match was the ball scored by Yaroslavl striker Timur Zhamaletdinov at the end of the match.
The former Ufa player and former CSKA hope received a pass near the centre circle and from his own half of the pitch sent the ball behind the neck to Chernov, who, even at 197 centimetres tall, could not reach the ball. This is a gift from Zhamaletdinov to the goal of his former team.
Shinnik got the win at the right time. The team moved up to 12th place, but Ufa continues to fall: six points after nine rounds and a natural place in the relegation zone.
