A unique story for world sport will happen today, August 26, in the United States.
The Major League Baseball (MLB) game between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Boston Red Sox will be completed in the United States on Monday. The game was scheduled to start on June 26 and started on time, but was interrupted by rain. The final game was postponed until the end of August.
But the point of the story is not that the game is completed, but that the same player can play on both teams at the same time.
Catcher Danny Jensen played for Toronto earlier in the summer and on June 26 he took the field in the uniform of the Canadian club. However, during the two-month forced break, he managed to change his registration and move to the Red Sox. And the baseball player will finish the game as part of the Boston club. It turns out that MLB rules do not prohibit such a change in order without finishing the game.

Red Sox head coach Alex Cora commented on the situation as follows: “We’re not looking to make history. We just need Danny to play for us in this game.” This is the first time something like this has happened in Major League Baseball. However, I don’t remember this happening in other team sports either. All kinds of friendly games and show matches don’t count.
