On June 22, the first UFC tournament in the country’s history will take place in Saudi Arabia. The Russian fighter Sharabutdin Magomedov, better known as Shara Bullet, will fight there. He will share the octagon with Brazilian Joylton Lutterbach, representing Germany.
Magomedov’s career is truly unique. Shara started in soccer, he showed good results, but because of another fight he left his team and left this sport in the past. Magomedov began boxing, where he performed well. After that, Thai boxing and kickboxing appeared in his life, and then he began to perform in mixed martial arts. Through pop MMA, Magomedov made his way to the strongest Russian leagues, where he managed to establish himself as a brilliant fighter, won victories over serious opponents and ended up in the UFC. Shara attracts attention not only with her extraordinary appearance, but also with her brilliant style and unique technique. The basic boxer managed to retrain to become a universal striker; In stand-up, Magomedov acts as versatile as possible. First of all, it’s about his footwork, which is at an unreal level. Throughout the 15 minutes of the fight, he can deliver several hard kicks to his opponent, constantly changing the levels of attacks, thus knocking down his opponents. In addition to basic kicks, Shara can throw an original spinner or a kick that only he can perform. In this sense, Shara’s style is reminiscent of that of Zabit Magomedsharipov, who also surprised American audiences with his unique and varied stand-up work.

Shara is also not bad at manual labor, after all, she was initially engaged in boxing, so there are two classics in Magomedov’s arsenal. Shara has good physical power, allowing him to drag his opponents into the clinch: Bullet likes to work at close range, inserting knees and elbows.
And of course, constant pressure and pressure is what sets Magomedov apart. Few can withstand this pressure, and Shara’s first UFC fight is very noteworthy here. His opponent was Bruno Silva, who of 23 victories in his career won 20 by knockout. But in the fight with Bullet, the powerful striker and knockout artist had to look for salvation in the fight, since in the standing position Shara simply destroyed the Brazilian.

By the way, wrestling is perhaps one of the weakest components of Shara’s arsenal. Magomedov, unlike other Dagestani fighters in the UFC, prefers to fight on his feet. He does not have good defense against takedowns, he himself never falls to the ground and many believe that this will be a problem for Magomedov in fights with guys who know how to fight. But at the same time, in the same fight with Silva, Shara attacked well from below, not allowing his opponent to do anything on the ground. So far, wrestling has not been an obstacle in Shara’s career: his stance is enough to keep a “zero” in the loss column. Alex Pereira doesn’t know how to fight either, but he beat five UFC champions and took two belts. So the not-best wrestling so far has been offset by the Russian’s good posture, but I think Magomedov is still working to improve his wrestling.
Sharabutdin is indeed one of the most unconventional fighters in the UFC, and not just the Russians. Shara performs brilliant shots while standing, his opponents don’t know what to expect from him. A confident victory over the strong Lutterbach could boost Bullet’s ratings in the UFC, and perhaps in the next fight we will see Shara fight with a top-level opponent, especially since many middleweight representatives have spoken about Magomedov.
