If his performances in the Summer League weren’t good enough, he’s pretty good in the world of Call of Duty. James Jr. won the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 tournament. In the competition, he was better than Charlotte Hornets forward Grant Williams and Detroit Pistons forward Boby Clintman.

The King’s son has already won the first NBA trophy: the championship belt for the best Call of Duty player in the Summer League, as well as a $10,000 prize. So far, Bronny is demonstrating better shooting on the virtual battlefield. He’s making shots on the floor. In just his last four games played, James Jr. has made just seven of 31 field goal attempts, a shooting percentage of 22.5%. And it’s not Jaylen Brown, Derrick White or someone better who are defending against him, but youngsters like Bronny himself.
Lakers head coach JJ Redick continues to believe in James Jr. “Bronnie and I had a number of conversations. I actually talked to him after practice yesterday. Bronny is currently working on his development. That’s how we see it, that’s how we look at it. He’ll definitely be spending time with the Lakers. He’ll also be spending time in the Development League. We’re building our player development program and he’ll be a big part of it. And what I just told him, what we’re looking forward to is putting pressure on the opponent with the ball. I told him this yesterday. I said, I don’t care if you have 10 fouls, I don’t care if you get whistled all the time.

“What I really care about is that you have to be on the ball, a couple steps away from it. You have to be the guy who is ready to take the ball away from your opponent at any time. In terms of offense, Bronny is now a negative player on defense, the defender can still be useful and often acts in the right way. Jaylen Brown, who saw James Jr. play in the Summer League, is already openly criticizing him.
