“I went to get a hair transplant and took steroids.” The legendary fighter returns to the UFC

He wants to fight again for the sake of a record, but even Dana White is against it.
The UFC has been experiencing a shortage of top talent for a long time. Therefore, for weeks the organization organizes tournaments in which no stars appear on the card. And now the legendary veteran has suddenly decided to return to the league. Donald Cerrone plans to resume his professional career. The legendary Cowboy has been retired for more than two years. And now he hopes to return to mark a historic achievement. True, a big question arises: whether Cerrone will really be able to compete with his opponents at 41 years old.

Apparently, the cowboy is not satisfied with the number of records he has set in the best league on the planet. That’s why Cerrone will step back into the cage. And he even named the exact number of fights he intends to have: “I want to return to the UFC and have two more fights there, so that my record is 50 fights. When I retired, I said I was leaving to do hair transplants and take steroids. I’ve been dreaming about the number 50 for a long time and I can’t get it out of my head. “I was told that if I start taking steroids I won’t stop, but now apparently it’s time to stop taking them to cleanse my body.”

Admittedly, not everyone is happy that Donald intends to fight professionally again. And even UFC president Dana White spoke out against it. Also, apparently, the question is not about concern about age and health: “I really don’t like this. Very. I love him, but I don’t like him at all. He finished his career. Why should I go back? What to prove? If you want money, let’s think about something else. Guys finish their careers for a reason, there is a reason. They leave because they realize it’s over. They know it.”
We can quite agree with Dana’s position. Cerrone left the UFC without much fanfare. On the contrary, at the end of his career he faced a very long and unpleasant series. Six losses and a fight in which the result was annulled is an extremely unfortunate series. And if at first the American fought with the best (Conor McGregor, Justin Gaethje, Tony Ferguson), in the end he lost to everyone. And he lost earlier than expected, which further underlines how painful the situation is. Alex Morono defeated Cowboy by technical knockout, Jim Miller by guillotine.

Of course, one could try to solve several problems at once by bringing Cerrone back. For example, organize a beautiful farewell for Conor McGregor or Tony Ferguson. In such a situation, it is quite possible to organize various revenges. But I really don’t want the cowboy to just become a “scapegoat.” Looks like even Conor can handle Donald now. After three years of inactivity and total detraining. And for the conditional Gaethje, the fight with Cerrone could be a pass. Therefore, Dana just doesn’t see exactly how to use Donald correctly after returning.

Cerrone was unable to escape in time on his first attempt. And now he really dreams of returning to the UFC. But the league may not do very well by rejecting the legendary veteran. At the same time, Dana may be doing absolutely the right thing. He’s trying to preserve the legacy of the UFC Hall of Famer.
