On September 28, the next boxing tournament “IBA Night of Champions” will take place in Baku (Azerbaijan). The main event of the evening will be a 10-round fight between the three-time Russian champion and the European champion. Vsevolod Shumkov and world champion Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilovrepresenting Uzbekistan. The IBA champion belt in the category up to 57 kg will be at stake.
Another Russian will also perform at the tournament: Gabil Mamedov. The European champion will face the Kazakh in six rounds Nurtas Azhbenov. The fight will take place in the weight category up to 63.5 kg.
“Championship” will host an online broadcast of the tournament and related events.

“I wouldn’t consider Vsevolod a clear favorite and generally just a favorite. In this fight the situation is very close. Mirzakhalilov is an experienced boxer who psychologically has everything in order. If you remember their candidate’s fight with the Mexican, I thought he would sink along the way considering the pace they took at the beginning. But in the end we saw that Mirzakhalilov himself “wasted” the Mexican. Furthermore, Mirazizbek hits selectively and misses few goals. Even taking into account subjectivity, if we talk about preferences, then as a percentage I would give 60 to 40 in favor of Vsevolod, nothing more. And I will draw attention to subjectivity. But the fight is very competitive, it is difficult to say if Shumkov is the favorite in this fight,” Kravtsov said.
