The blue and white leader repeated the club record, the Muscovites once again surpassed SKA in the table.
On January 6, there were only two games on the KHL game schedule. Let us briefly summarize their results.
Dinamo Moscow finished the year 2023 with a series of three defeats, lost the lead in the Western Conference, but then received a week of rest. The weekend and the anger with themselves helped the blue and white team face Kunlun with confidence on their home court. In the 14th minute, Dynamo led 2:0: Puckett and Mennell scored. Halfway through the match, the visitors went back a goal, but in the third period this did not lead to a comeback, but to a new share of goals against Smith.
The blue and white won the last half 5-0, scoring goals for everyone, and Nikita Gusev scored a double. In total, in this match the Dynamo leader scored 5 (2+3) points, repeating the Club’s record for the number of points scored in a match. 7-1: super safe victory for the Muscovites, who once again overtook SKA in the western table.

In the other game of the day everything was also headed towards a sure victory for one of the teams. In the first half, Avangard sent three unanswered goals into Lada’s goal, sat goalkeeper Podyapolsky on the bench, and at the beginning of the second half Chmykhov brought the score to an important one. But at 0:4, Lada did not break down and almost staged a great comeback. Altybarmakyan revived the team with a goal late in the second half, and Kulikov and Josephs scored in the second half. The Togliatti team still had half time to achieve the feat, but then Avangard diverted the game from its goal and then scored the fifth goal in time thanks to the efforts of Prokhorkin. 5:3 – Avangard escaped with a slight scare and regained second place in the East.
