Four matches were held in the KHL regular season on September 7. Let’s briefly summarize all the matches.
SKA got their first win of the season, beating Lada
In the regular season match of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) on the ice of the Lada Arena in Togliatti, the local Lada faced SKA St. Petersburg. The guests won the match with a score of 3:1.
The match opened in the first half, with Mikhail Vorobyov scoring from assists by Ivan Vydrenkov and Marat Khairullin, who converted his effort in a four-on-four game. Midway through the second half, Arseniy Gritsyuk doubled his team’s lead. Lada pulled one back late in the match thanks to the efforts of Anthony Greco, but conceded an empty-net goal from Khairullin. 3:1 – SKA win.
SKA has won its first game in the current KHL competition: in the first match, Roman Rotenberg’s team lost at Metallurg Magnitogorsk (4:5 in overtime). Lada also lost its first official game of the season: the Togliatti team lost at home to Lokomotiv (0:3).

“Ak Bars” recovered from 0-2 and then defeated “Torpedo” in the penalty shootout in the KHL match
The regular season match of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) took place. Torpedo and Kazan Ak Bars met. The main period of the match at the Nizhny Novgorod Nagorny Arena ended with a score of 2:2, and the hockey players of the Kazan team went to the penalty shootout.
The match opened in the first half when Vasily Atanasov put the hosts ahead on a pass from Maxim Letunov. At the start of the second half, Torpedo increased their lead: Evgeniy Svechnikov scored on a pass from Sergei Goncharuk. Ak Bars responded with a precise shot from Artyom Galimov on a pass from Semyon Terekhov at the end of the second twenty minutes and a goal from Dmitry Yashkin on passes from Nick Petan and Alexander Barabanov at the beginning of the third period.
The main period of the match and the extra time did not reveal the winner, but in the penalty shootout the Ak Bars hockey players turned out to be more accurate. For Kazan coach Anvar Gatiyatulin, this victory was the 200th in his career in the KHL. He became the 16th specialist in the history of the league to achieve this feat.
Ak Bars lost their first away match of the season to Salavat Yulaev (3:5). The Kazan team will face Avangard in Omsk on September 9.
Torpedo started the season with a loss to Severstal (0-3) and will now play Avtomobilist at home on September 9.

“Vityaz” defeated “Amur” and scored the goal in the last second of the match.
The regular season match of the KHL was held on the ice of the Yuri Lyapkin Arena-Balashikha. Vityaz and Amur from Khabarovsk met. The home team won the match 2:0.
The winning goal in the match was scored by the majority: it was scored by American Vityaz legionnaire Derek Barak after a pass from Dmitry Buchelnikov. In the last second of the match, Egor Morozov kicked the puck into the empty net, doubling Vityaz’s lead.
Vityaz has achieved its first victory of the season. In the opening match of the campaign, the Moscow region team lost at home to Admiral 2-3. On September 9, Vityaz will play a home match against Sochi.
Amur lost its second match in a row. In its last match, the Khabarovsk team lost to Dynamo Minsk 0:3.

Martemyanov learned during the game that he would become a grandfather, the announcer announced at the Balashikha stadium.
During the match, the announcer at the Balashikha Arena announced that Amur coach Andrei Martemyanov was going to become a grandfather. The screen showed his daughter, who was in the stands.

Spartak lost to Sochi in a penalty shootout
The regular season match of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) took place on the ice of the Megasport in Moscow. The local Spartak met Sochi. The main period of the match did not reveal the winner (1:1), nor did the overtime, and in the penalty shootout the Sochi hockey players were more accurate.
The first goal of the match was scored in the 33rd minute by Kirill Rasskazov, who scored from Alexey Vasilkov’s program. Spartak managed to equalize the score 24 seconds before the end of regular time. During the six-on-five game, Ivan Morozov scored the puck. Extra time did not reveal the winner, and in the penalty shootout, the Sochi team proved to be more accurate.
In the first match of the season, Spartak defeated CSKA (4:2). Now the team is waiting for the home match against Dynamo Minsk, which will take place on September 9. It is worth noting that Nikolai Goldobin, the second sniper of the last KHL season, was not in Spartak’s lineup for the match against Sochi.
For Sochi, this match was the first official one of the current campaign. The Sochi team will play away against Vityaz on September 9.
