Armenia dealt convincingly with Latvia in the Nations League. The opponent’s surprising own goal also helped.
The Armenians, however, also scored their own goal: Krasnodar player Georgy Harutyunyan fought with the Latvian at a corner and cut the ball with his thigh without success. But a minute earlier, Vahan Bichakhchyan opened the scoring with a powerful shot from a pass by Nair Tiknizyan. So the teams quickly exchanged goals at the start of the match and kept their own.
Until, in the 36th minute, Kaspars Dubra made a stylish crossbow: under pressure he tried to pass the ball back to the goalkeeper and miscalculated the powerful and precise pass. Welcome to any collection of the most curious own goals!

Fortunately for the Latvian defender, at least his own goal was not decisive. In the second half, the Latvian national team completely dissolved and Armenia’s lead was not in doubt. Only Lucas Selarayan first caught the defender’s clearance and increased the lead, and then saw the goalkeeper run away and from his half of the field (!) shoot a rebound from the grass onto the crossbar. It is a pity that the masterpiece did not succeed: it would have been a clear candidate for the Ferenc Puskás award.
