The eighth round of the RPL is over – we are determining the symbolic team of the weekend. The team of the best players of the week included representatives of eight clubs: Akron, Dynamo Makhachkala, Krylya Sovetov, Lokomotiv, Zenit, Krasnodar, Akhmat and Orenburg. The players are positioned within the conventional 4-4-2 tactical scheme. The head coach is also from the Samara team. Here is the full list of heroes:

Goalkeeper: Alexander Vasyutin (Akron)
Akron’s new goalkeeper, who arrived from Zenit during the summer transfer market, has been waiting for his chance for several rounds and is now making the most of it. Vasyutin became one of the main architects of the Togliatti team’s dry victory over Khimki. Alexander made seven saves after 20 shots at his own goal, and at least three of them were really great saves, and he also started one of Akron’s scoring attacks.

Right back: Valentin Paltsev (Dynamo Mx)
Dynamo Makhachkala stopped Spartak and Russian national team debutant Paltsev once again played a solid game. However, in this match Valentin, due to his extremely tough style, played because of a warning that he did not receive. Paltsev won eight of 13 duels, made 10 important defensive actions (five clearances, two interceptions and blocked shots each, as well as one tackle), committed three fouls and once saved the team with a “save” of a goal conceded.

Center back: Roman Evgeniev (“Wings of the Soviets”)
The Wings of the Soviets won a crucial shutout victory in Kazan, which should help the team get out of the crisis, and Evgeniev strengthened the defense of the Samara team. Roman has nine clearances, four interceptions and blocked shots, one tackle and six out of ten fights won. Igor Osinkin lacked such play from the central defenders in the first rounds of the Championship.

Central defender: Gerzino Nyamsi (Lokomotiv)
Lokomotiv’s defense in the match against Orenburg was not perfect, but the giant Nyamsi seems to be its strongest link. Moreover, it was the French center back who gave the railwaymen the victory, skillfully understanding the opponent’s penalty area at the end of the match. As for Gerzino’s statistics, he has two hits, one pass, four clearances, two tackles and four out of seven fights won.

Left back: Douglas Santos (Zenit)
Zenit won a match against CSKA, in which they certainly did not play enough to win, but a couple of stars of the blue and white team can be satisfied with their performance. The defender and captain of the St. Petersburg team assisted Luciano Gonda, cutting in a good cross from the left flank. In the performance of his direct duties, Douglas Santos also did not fail: in his statistics he accumulated six clearances and one interception.

Right winger: Luciano Gondu (Zenit)
The Argentine newcomer from Zenit continues to score in every match: a brace against Paris NN, then a brace in a friendly against Kairat and now the winning goal in the most important match against CSKA. Luciano once again showed that he knows how to perfectly choose a position in the opponent’s penalty area and strike with his head. In total, during the match the striker, formally assigned to the right flank, but making a lot of volume in different areas, took four shots and committed three fouls.

Central midfielder: Alexey Batrakov (Lokomotiv)
There are no words to praise Lokomotiv’s most talented midfielder, and I want only one thing: for Batrakov to remain stable and delight us with his magical passes and goals in every round. Now Alexey made the difference in Orenburg, scoring a double against the equally promising goalkeeper Bogdan Moskvichev. Batrakov has four hits, three attacked passes, 79 touches of the ball (the most in this match), two tackles and two self-inflicted fouls.

Central midfielder: Eduard Spertsyan (Krasnodar)
The Krasnodar leader recalled his former self in the match against Rostov: Spertsyan scored two goals, more than in the previous seven rounds. For the double against Valery Karpin’s team, the midfielder needed only two shots in the match. But in addition to goals, Eduard immediately scored seven assists, three interceptions and one tackle, and out of his 32 passes, 27 were accurate.

Left Winger: Soltmurad Bakaev (Akron)
Bakaev had a great game against his brother Zelimkhan’s team: his goal and assist to Stefan Loncar destroyed Khimki. Soltmurad’s goal after a brilliant solo pass through the opponent’s defence was particularly beautiful. In total, the Akron winger took three shots at Khimki’s goal, made two passes and committed a couple of fouls.

Forward: Mauro Luna Diale (Akhmat)
Despite Akhmat’s defeat to Dynamo (2-4), the Grozny team found a player who deserved to be in the team for the trip. With the score 2:0 in favour of the Muscovites, Luna Diale brought the southerners back into the fight: he scored a great header and then created Sadulayev’s second goal with a subtle assist. Luna Diale has three shots on goal for the blue and whites, two passes under attack and one self-inflicted foul.

Forward: Said Sakharkhizan (Orenburg)
Iranian footballers are increasingly becoming prominent figures in the Russian championship, and Sakharkhizan scored a brace against Lokomotiv in this round. The Orenburg striker has already scored four goals and one assist in seven RPL matches. Said took four shots on goal for the railwaymen and made 11 of 14 accurate passes, including two under attack.

Head coach: Igor Osinkin (“Wings of the Soviets”)
Krylia Sovetov’s head coach has responded to talk of his possible resignation with a third win in the last five RPL matches. Osinkin’s team beat a strong Rubin, something that few can manage in Kazan. And dryly too! The Samara team did it even without the goals of newcomer Ivan Sergeev from Zenit. Krylia Sovetov’s players implemented Osinkin’s plan almost perfectly and outshot Rubin six times (6:1).

Who didn’t make the team?
There were not enough places for everyone in the symbolic team of the tour, but we cannot fail to name other heroes of the weekend. Despite the four goals conceded by Lokomotiv, the goalkeeper Moskvichev played great, again saving a penalty and making brilliant saves. Idar Shumakhov from Dynamo Makhachkala, Diego Costa and Sergei Petrov from Krasnodar successfully handled the defense. Midfielders Ivan Oleynikov (Krylya Sovetov), Viktor Sa (Krasnodar), Lonchar (Akron) were good. The long-awaited goal was scored by Konstantin Tyukavin from Dynamo Moscow.
