It seems like the relationship has been broken for many years.
The split in amateur boxing seems to have reached its peak. The International Olympic Committee has long been at odds with the IBA. This led to the emergence of an alternative organization in the United States. The situation only got worse; athletes were not allowed to participate in the Olympic Games. And this is the most important start for any boxer; many literally dream of a gold medal at these competitions. Therefore, many countries began to think about moving under the wing of a new organization. And now there was news that further aggravated the situation. And it seems that it finally broke off all relations for many years.

The International Boxing Association (IBA), headed by Umar Kremlev, has been excluded from the list of recognized federations. The decision was made during a session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Paris. This means that relations between organizations are everything. There was hope for a positive, albeit illusory, outcome. But after such a verdict of the IOC, there is a feeling that the point of no return has been passed. And now the paths of the organizations have completely diverged. It is worth noting that the IBA was prepared for such an outcome. But they have already managed to leave a reaction, and quite harsh.

“The IBA is a bone in the throat of the IOC. Now they infringe on the athletes, as only the IBA has prize money at the championships, only our organization allows athletes from Russia and Belarus to carry the flag and anthem of the country. We are an independent and transparent organization that does not discriminate. And the IOC, in turn, behaves like a fascist, organizing genocide of athletes based on their nationality and making politicized decisions. The IOC is afraid of its own shadow!”
The Kremlin did not stop there and continued to criticize the IOC’s decision. It decided to remind that the IBA has achieved very decent results, even in isolation: “Our boxing family should not be afraid of anything. We know where we want to go and we know how to get there. Everyone can see what we do and what we are capable of. Our main tournaments – the World Championships and the Night of Champions – are a demonstration of our capabilities. There is no other organization than the IBA that can operate at such a high level and create conditions for successful relations with national federations, athletes and coaches. Misinformation about our national federations by other organizations is not good, but we point out the truth. This is our path.”
The IOC does not want to see our boys in the main tournament of the fourth anniversary:

Russian and Belarusian boxers, according to the decision of the International Boxing Association, perform at international competitions using national symbols. And it seems that this is precisely what is becoming the main stumbling block. But no one is going to make concessions. That is why the IOC is taking drastic measures. The organization understands perfectly well that after this cooperation can be forgotten for a long time. But now it is time for the Olympic Games, and such a decision will attract more attention. Therefore, the IOC’s verdict is not particularly surprising.
The other question is what the IBA will do now. The organisation has shown that it is able to “live” in isolation and does not suffer particularly. And now it will finally act independently of others.
