Mixed martial arts guys have a really hard time in the ring.
On the night of July 6-7, a big boxing evening will take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim (USA). The main event of its program will be a 10-round fight between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz. They come from mixed martial arts. What’s more, they were already fighting each other. The last meeting took place according to MMA rules, and Diaz and Masvidal identified the first holder of the BMF belt in the UFC. The fight turned out brilliantly, Jorge won. And now Nate wants revenge. But there is still no special enthusiasm around this fight. And all because people from mixed martial arts do not shine in the ring.

It is worth noting that this is not the first experiment with the transition of guys from MMA to boxing. And so far it can be said that almost all of them end in failure. The disciplines look very different, as does the preparation for them. Conor McGregor was one of the first to take this “golden” path. This is not surprising; everyone wanted to see him in this sport for a long time. On August 26, 2017, Floyd Mayweather became his opponent. It all ended painfully for Notorius. In the tenth round he lost by technical knockout. Floyd could have finished off the Irishman much earlier, but he openly played with him.

After this fight, everyone believed even in the fairy tale. But then he crashed into the “rocks” of Anthony Joshua’s ambitions. AJ came out and quickly finished off the Predator. And now, apparently, Francis will have to return to mixed martial arts.

Boxers are really not very friendly with representatives of mixed martial arts. But everything becomes even sadder when two representatives of mixed martial arts collide in the ring. For example, recently there was a match of veterans. In it Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen collided. And the battle was very boring. The exhibition match lasted only five rounds. But even during this time the audience was on the verge of falling asleep. The rivals did not hit each other, but literally “tickled” each other. That’s why the referee gave the fighters a draw. The sight was really sad.
Former UFC interim welterweight champion, American Colby Covington, spoke very negatively about the upcoming fight between Diaz and Masvidal: “This is a fight between two old, complete losers from the UFC, who should have retired from fighting a long time ago. Scruffy, old fighters will enter the ring. They can no longer compete at the elite level that I do. They both got 10 seconds of fame in the UFC and now they live off those successful fights from 10 years ago.”

I would like to hope that the top UFC gangsters of recent years will not let you down. In addition, Diaz and Masvidal have a history of confrontations, which only fuels the interest in him. And Nate, not so long ago, still looked pretty good against Jake Paul. But the trend remains that MMA fighters are transitioning to professional boxing in a frankly not the best way. And so far there are no special prerequisites for the situation to change.
