On the night of October 19 to 20 in Orlando (USA) at the Caribbean Royal Arena there will be a great evening of professional boxing. The start of the tournament is scheduled for 4:00 Moscow time. The main event will be a junior middleweight title fight. Undefeated Russian boxer Bakhram Murtazaliev (22-0) makes his first defense of the IBF title he won in April 2024 by knocking out Jack Culcay. The champion’s opponent will be Timofey Tszyu (24-1), who returns after the first defeat of his career: in March he lost to Sebastian Fundora and lost his WBO title.
It is worth noting that Kostya’s heir is often reproached for “chatter.” Bahram is far from the first opponent to try to mock Tim for this. It just seems that Tszyu is doing everything absolutely right, using this “weapon” perfectly.

Murtazaliev decided to talk about his next opponent. And he called Tim “the most hyped name in boxing.” Bakhram apparently wanted to remind them that the Australian’s father, Kostya, is the legendary Russian champion. And from the beginning, increased attention was paid to Timofey’s career because of the person of the Pope. Tszyu did not remain silent and responded to the attack: “I am only here to prove that I am at a higher level, that’s all. I’ve heard about this since the beginning of my career. Nothing new. People keep talking. A couple of opponents were respectful, then another one shows up, and everything repeats itself, more nonsense. We have what we have. What can I do about it?

It is worth noting that Tim is always on everyone’s lips. And this has nothing to do with who his father was to the world of professional boxing. First of all, Kostya’s heir is very active. The Australian practically never sits idle, constantly enters the ring and accepts almost any challenge. Therefore, he does not allow fans and experts to forget his name. Secondly, Tim has a brilliant style, which often leads to beautiful early victories. And fans love this style very much and perceive it with great delight. Thirdly, it is impossible not to notice the incredible character of Timothy. In the last battle, Kostya’s son was literally bleeding, but he endured and fought to the end.
And the most important thing is that Tim really learned to “talk” well to the press and to his opponents. Unfortunately, not all boxers understand that this is the best way to sell their fights and always remain at the top of attention. And many times press conferences become a mere formality. There, the opponents exchange sterile phrases and practically do not try to heat up the public’s interest to the limit. But this does not apply to Timothy. Kostya’s heir does not mince words. First he mocks his opponents on social media or in the press and then confronts them in personal confrontations.

In this context, Bahram seems downright colorless. Murtazaliev prefers to show everything in the ring, something he has mentioned more than once. But this is no longer enough for modern boxing for a long time. The martial arts industry relies heavily on the ability to trash talk. And many guys achieve great success even without incredible talent or ability. On the contrary, often technical and very intelligent fighters remain in the “shadow” because they do not know how to competently position themselves in public and literally knock out the best fighters. Therefore, athletes who are willing to give fans exactly what they want are now valued.
Kostya’s eldest son even takes hints in a corner in Russian:
“When you walk into Tszyu’s house, you see the Soviet Union.” Tim is Australian, but close to us.
The big question is who exactly will be more interesting to the Russian public and who has a more impressive fan base. Bahram is our undefeated compatriot. But it seems that more fans are on the side of Kostya’s son. Tim has a great opportunity to show that he is capable of not only “talking”, but also crushing his opponents in the ring.
