The Champions League is barely knockout, but South America is one step ahead. The stage of the 1/8 final is about to begin there, and one of the main couples was made up of giants from Argentina and Brazil. Both ‘River Plate’ and ‘Internacional’ passed the group stage not without problems, leading their pursuers by a few points. Now it’s time for the quarterfinals. The first game will be in Buenos Aires, and in a week the teams will meet in Porto Alegre.

European clubs are giving away plenty of friendlies this summer with Champions League round of 16 lineups. Another super couple: Milan and Barça. The teams combine recent matches with Real Madrid, only the results were different. “Milan” lost to Madrid, and “Barcelona” made a wild cut and won a landslide victory. Now you can know the relationship directly between you, and at the same time know how Xavi’s team is after the incendiary El Clásico.

Mystery: who will face the Netherlands in the round of 16?
In Group G, only Sweden is guaranteed a place in the round of 16 of the World Cup. The fight for the second ticket to the playoffs will be hot. Italy is in a better position thanks to the victory over the Argentines, while South Africa and the South American team have only one point each. However, the African Cup champions show a spectacular game throughout the tournament and if they defeat the Italians, they will advance to the next round. In the round of 16, the team that took second place in group G will face the Netherlands.

Intrigue: Will Brazil leave the group?
After the defeat of Brazil in the match with the French team and the victory of Jamaica over Panama, the team of the legendary Marta was in third place in the group. The result of this match, judging by the sign, seems to be easily predictable, however, in the first round, the Jamaicans unexpectedly faced the leaders of the group – France, drawing 0:0. To go further, today Brazil only needs a victory.

Intrigue: Will Bayern improve on Liverpool’s meeting record?
The match, of course, is a friendly, but Bayern haven’t been very good at playing Liverpool lately. In the era of Jurgen Klopp, the teams met three times: in a friendly tournament in 2017, the British defeated the opponent, and in 2019 they reached the 1/8 final of the Champions League, never losing. An additional intrigue in the matchup could be Sadio Mane’s meeting with the former team, but the Senegalese is about to become a player for Al-Nasr.

In the first game in Poland, the teams made a real thriller. It all ended with the victory of the hosts with a score of 3:2. Unfortunately for Qarabag, the away goal rule in European competition no longer applies, so a home win is needed anyway, and no matter what the score, extra time is not ruled out. If we manage to go further, the group stage of the Champions League will be very close.
