Skyscrapers appeared in Russia relatively recently. It is believed that large-scale construction of skyscrapers began in the early 90s. Previously, houses were built according to the type of “Stalinist” skyscrapers, some of which have survived to this day.
With the appearance of the Moscow International Business Center “Moscow City”, which created a whole zone of business quarters, Russia gradually began to appear in international lists of owners of the tallest skyscrapers in the world.
The trend to build high-rise buildings continues to this day. This is explained quite simply: in Russia there are not many free places for the construction of buildings, so you have to save as much space as possible.

As a rule, residential apartments are located on the highest floors of skyscrapers. Also, the higher the floor, the higher the cost of housing. This reason lies in several basic things. Firstly, the apartments located on high floors have clean air free of car exhaust gases. Secondly, don’t forget the charming landscape, which you can admire from a bird’s eye view.
But there are also some disadvantages: for people with a fear of heights, this type of housing is clearly not suitable. Furthermore, in the event of a fire, leaving the upper floors is not an easy task. Problems with pipes are also not uncommon. Due to the fact that water must be supplied under high pressure, pipes tend to burst. Which, in turn, threatens to flood several floors at once.
However, despite this, acquiring an apartment in the very center of the country is a tribute to modern fashion and a profitable investment.

The Lakhta Center is the tallest skyscraper in Russia. There were many omissions and disputes surrounding his construction project. Therefore, the public was deeply upset that the skyscraper would ruin the entire historical image of St. Petersburg. As a result of long discussions, construction was moved to another area.
Initially, the Lakhta Center was to be displayed in front of the Smolny Cathedral in the Krasnogvardeisky district, but eventually the tallest building in Russia was located in the Primorsky district. This made it possible to further increase the number of floors in the building.
Now Lakhta Center, in addition to the main title, has won several more. For example, during construction, record results were achieved: in two days, workers placed about 19 thousand cubic meters of concrete. There are also 48 high-speed elevators in the building, which will not keep visitors waiting more than 30 seconds.

“Federation”

Another tall building is located in Moscow and includes two complete skyscrapers, built from a single stylobate consisting of six floors. Curiously, both have different numbers of plants. Thus, the West tower has 62 floors, and the East tower has even more: 97.
It is Vostok that is considered the tallest tower in the city of Moscow. Here, on the 97th floor, there is a huge observation deck. Before the appearance of the Lakhta Center, the Vostok Tower was considered the tallest in the country.

“Eurasia” is considered the tallest building in all of Europe, whose structure is built entirely of metal. The tower is part of the city of Moscow and differs from other skyscrapers due to its traditional style. “City of Capitals” Complex

The residential complex, located in Moscow, consists of nine sections of different heights. All of them are located in a five-story stylobate. The dominant role in the design of the Palacio del Triunfo is occupied by a 264 m high section, together with the spire. The spire itself was assembled from eight modules, the weight of each of which varies from four to eight tons. To lift construction material of this size it was necessary to use a helicopter.
Sections of the skyscraper have separate entrances. The main entrance, for example, is located on Chapaevsky Lane, near the park of the same name. The stylobate contains public spaces: from the 11th to the 38th floor there are luxury apartments and penthouses, where many stars of the Russian show business have settled.

“Evolution” Tower

Perhaps “Evolution” is one of the most famous towers in Moscow. And all because of its strange shape: the spiral skyscraper represents the formula of DNA. “Empire” is a 60-story business complex. According to the authors’ idea, the skyscraper is a kind of vertical city, where there is everything for a comfortable existence. The huge building mainly houses office premises; They occupy the floors from the first to the 41st. But there are few apartments to live there: from the 43rd to the 59th floor. In addition, the Empire has a hotel and shopping areas.

Main building of Moscow State University

The central building of the main Moscow university is located on Vorobyovy Gory. Until 1990, the MSU building was considered the tallest in Europe. The building’s tower consists of 32 floors and is the tallest of all Stalinist buildings.
The building is completely symmetrical with respect to the main tower. From this, in turn, 18-story “wings” were built. And they contain the well-known clock, barometer and thermometer. The huge clock that adorns the main building of the educational institution is considered the largest in Europe.
The original “wings” built on the central building have 12-story buildings. The alley, overlooking the Moscow River, captivates with its floral diversity and squares with fountains. Since the building was considered the tallest in Russia, there are observation platforms on its top.

“House on Mosfilmovskaya” is a residential complex. The skyscraper consists of two towers of different heights. The two structures are connected to each other by a low section. The building has temperature regulation depending on the season and the number of people living in the house.
Additionally, the windows of the skyscraper are built with special glass that prevents the sun from heating the room. On the highest floor of the skyscraper there is a huge penthouse with a swimming pool. From the upper floors of the skyscraper you can enjoy a stunning view of the entire Moscow to the Moscow Ring Road.

Iset Tower

The Iset Tower is a residential building with 225 apartments of different sizes. From the sixth floor to the 39th there are two- and three-bedroom apartments, and above, from the 41st to the 47th, four-bedroom apartments. All of them are equipped with a “smart home” function.

“Vysotsky”

The modern skyscraper is located in the heart of Yekaterinburg and has 54 floors. The construction of the skyscraper occurred with a great scandal. Thus, during the works, architectural monuments of the city were destroyed. However, they promised to restore one of them, the Falkovsky estate, which somewhat softened the conflict. But two years later, another historical monument was destroyed – the “Yarutin House”, after which the construction of the skyscraper was met with great indignation by residents.
However, the official opening of the building took place in 2011, and a little later the pre-premiere screening of the film “Vysotsky. Thank you for being alive.” A year later, an observation deck was officially opened in Vysotsky, from where you can admire a stunning view of the city.
In the skyscraper there is a monument to the songs of Vladimir Vysotsky. The monument is in the shape of a film reel. On a huge nine-meter tape there are lines from the songs of the cult bard, which can be changed depending on the situations occurring in the city and the country.

Residential complex “Vorobyovy Gory”

The skyscraper consists of seven buildings located in a single five-level stylobate. The building houses more than 1,000 apartments of different sizes. The complex includes several supermarkets, a children’s studio, shopping and health centers and a huge five-level parking lot with a laundry room and a car repair workshop. Vorobyovy Gory is one of the ten tallest residential buildings in the capital.
