The contenders include both McLaren drivers and Charles Leclerc.
We continue our traditional column: after the end of each F1 race, we invite you to choose the worst driver yourself. In addition, in this ranking poll we encourage you to evaluate the performance of the drivers on race day, without taking into account qualifying and other sessions. In other words, it turns out to be a kind of “Racer of the Day” award in reverse.
Based on the results of the race at Silverstone, the editors selected six contenders for the title of worst driver, and now only you can determine the name of the “winner”.

Sergio Perez
Like Leclerc, Perez’s race was ended when he pitted for intermediate tyres during the first rain shower, then struggled on track, losing 10 seconds per lap to the slicks. Yes, with such a distant position, it was a risk to take, but who is to blame for Sergio finding himself in such an unenviable position?

Guanyu Zhou
Yes, the Kick-Sauber was not driving, but it is still difficult to avoid complaints about the driver himself. Together with the engineer, the Chinese decided in vain to start “soft” and suffered, and in the end Zhou spent the whole race badly. The result is the last place already two laps behind the leader. Guanyu even lost badly to Bottas.

Carlos Leclerc
The Monegasque driver became the only driver in the leading group to crash due to the first rain and had to pit early. If it weren’t for this, Leclerc would have finished the race comfortably in sixth position behind Sainz. The end result was agony, a quick round-robin and only 14th place.

Logan Sergeant
It wasn’t the worst race for the American, who was just a hair away from the points. However, let’s pay attention: after the start, Logan was directly behind Alexander Albon, whose car was damaged. However, in the end Sargent lost 20 seconds to his teammate and, unlike him, got into the points. As an excuse, Logan lost some time due to a double pit stop.

Lando Norris
There are three complaints against the McLaren driver. Firstly, he and his team failed to properly assess the condition of the track before the final pit stop and stopped a lap too late. Secondly, it was a mistake to choose “soft” tyres, although Lando himself said that the car normally behaves badly on this compound. Finally, Norris made a mistake when visiting the mechanics, which is why the stop lasted two seconds longer, perhaps the key ones.

Oscar Piastri
Some may consider this statement far-fetched, but we have questions for the driver himself about the first pit stop. Both Oscar and the engineer did not want to pit at the same time as Norris and lose time by making a double stop, but in the end, in an extra lap on a wet track, the Australian lost not just a couple of seconds, but a good 20. An experienced driver would probably have been better informed.
