Last season, Alexey Miranchuk won the most important trophy of his career. At least that is how the Russian himself described the Europa League victory with Atalanta. However, it is possible that he will start the new season at another club.

In mid-June, information appeared about Cagliari’s interest in the player. Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari confirmed Cagliari’s interest in Miranchuk. According to him, Atalanta is willing to part with Alexey for an amount in excess of 10 million euros. However, almost immediately the Russian agent Vadim Shpinev denied information about the Bergamaschi’s desire to sell the player for the stated amount. “The information about Atalanta’s willingness to sell Alexey for 10 million euros is not true,” Shpinev told his colleagues at Metaratings.

Why did Miranchuk interest Cagliari? Tutto Atalanta claims that the Sardinian club was attracted by Alexei’s ability to adapt to different attacking roles. Cagliari’s management sees in the Russian a potential strength for the team. But here it is important to reach an agreement with Atalanta on the financial terms of the deal.
The second option for Miranchuk is Genoa. Journalist Sasha Tavolieri claims that the Genoese club can rent a Russian. True, it is not entirely clear why Atalanta needs this. In a year, Miranchuk will become a free agent and then the Bergamascans will lose him for free. And he will not be able to get a decent amount for the rental. Around the same time, journalist Nicolo Skira reported that Miranchuk is not part of Atalanta’s plans and could move to another club. Another journalist, Andrea Elefant of Gazzetta dello Sport, also did not rule out the sale of the Russian.
“I think selling Miranchuk in this transfer window is possible. But it depends on the proposals the club has. Atalanta do not count on Miranchuk for the new season because they signed Nicolo Zaniolo. He is Italian, younger than Alexey,” the journalist told Metaratings.

Or maybe Miranchuk will go abroad? The American club DC United is interested in him, reports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio. At one time, this team was coached by Wayne Rooney, and now the former Liverpool striker Christian Benteke plays there (18 games, 14 goals this season). By the way, the Belgian is one of the three most expensive footballers of DC United (2.5 million euros). Miranchuk’s value is four times higher (according to Transfermarkt). Currently, DC United is only ranked 13th in the Eastern Conference of the MLS and is not even in the play-in zone.

At the end of May, information appeared about Miranchuk’s possible move to Bologna. This club, unlike Cagliari and Genoa, will play in European competitions. And not only in European Cups, but also in the Champions League. Atalanta was interested in Bologna’s attacking player Riccardo Orsolini, and the Bergamo side wanted to include Miranchuk in the deal to reduce the Italian’s cost. True, even then agent Shpinev said that he would not comment on the rumours. Since then, there have been even more rumours, but there is still no understanding about Miranchuk’s future.
