Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic became a finalist of the Grand Slam tournament for the 35th time, which is an absolute record for both men and women.

Previously, Djokovic shared this achievement with American Chris Evert, who has reached the final of Grand Slam tournaments 34 times. Further down the list of finalists were American Serena Williams – 33, Swiss Martina Navratilova – 32, German Steffi Graf and Swiss Roger Federer – each with 31. Spaniard Rafael Nadal – 30 finals.

Djokovic is a seven-time Wimbledon winner. The upcoming final is his ninth at the London tournament. Of the previous eight, the Serb lost only in 2013 to the British Andy Murray.

In this year’s final, Djokovic, who is the second racket in the world, will play with the winner of the match between the first and third rackets in the world, the Spanish Carlos Alcaras and the Russian Daniil Medvedev.
