On May 24 to June 4, Illusion cinema is hosting a festival of the Tsoi.
“The founder of the Kino group, a fan of Bruce Lee, Viktor Tsoi himself fell under the lenses of film cameras. Incredible energy and charisma, mesmerizing millions of listeners to this day, allowed Tsoi to become a star not only on stage but also on the screen. His image of a dual Soviet hero became an important part of soviet pop culture” pointed out the representatives of the cinema.
This program includes the following films: Needle, Tsoi, and The Last Hero by Alexei Uchitel, Assa by Sergei Solovyov, Yya-Kha, and Sisters. Slackers, as well as the biographical fantasy Summer by Kirill Serebrennikov, which centers on the musician’s life and art.
Illusion is also hosting a special screening of the film Execution. The film, which Clip-maker Lado Kvatania made his feature debut with, follows the hunt for a maniac in the spirit of what he calls the best examples of the genre shot in Europe and the US. Following the screening will be a discussion with costume designer Anna Kudevich and fashion historian Anna Bashtova.
Remember that in Moscow, an exhibition dedicated to the 60th birthday of Viktor Tsoi is happening. It will feature photographs, guitars, drafts, and stage costumes of the musician.
