HOW TO GET THERE:

Zelenogradsk is believed to be the oldest resort town on the Baltic Sea coast. In the 13th century it was the small fishing village of Kranz. At first, a small number of people came to Kranz, mostly those who knew about this place. Since the end of the 19th century, the town was declared a Royal Spa, and later a railway connection was established. Since then, the influx of people has increased with each summer season. This year, six luxury beaches were equipped in the Zelenograd district, the total length of the coast where swimming is officially allowed is 3.6 thousand meters.
The central beach is the most popular. There is a lot of entertainment here. Along the beach there is a promenade where you can walk, ride a bike and even play sports. As on the entire coast, the sand here is soft and light, pleasant to the touch, you can safely walk barefoot on the beach.
Among other things, there are surf schools in Kaliningrad. In addition, the Russian surfing championship has been held here for six years. The region, to the surprise of many, is rich in interesting surf spots in Zelenogradsk and Svetlogorsk. But only recently, when Russian surfers began to pay attention to the native waves, it turned out that it is here that the most optimal conditions for skiing in the European part of Russia are located. The long, winding coastline means that no matter the direction of the changing Baltic currents, you can always find a beach where the surfer can catch his wave. Since the Baltic Sea does not freeze in the Kaliningrad region, the ski season is limited only by your own desire and the availability of a suitable wetsuit that will protect you from cold water.
