Prime Minister Abdelhamid Dbeiba suspended Foreign Minister Najla al-Mankoush as a precaution, according to the statement. Al-Mankush will be investigated.
According to Libyan media, amid news about a meeting between the two ministers, protests broke out in several Libyan cities.
The GNU Foreign Ministry claimed that this meeting was random and unofficial, while the Libyan Ministry stressed that it does not support the normalization of relations with Israel and takes a firm stance on the Palestinian issue.
Let us remember that last week the first meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Israel and Libya took place in Italy. This was reported by the press service of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the talks, in particular, Israel’s support in a wide range of areas, including agriculture, water resources and the humanitarian sphere, was discussed.
