The number of newly created commercial companies grew by 15.4% in July 2023 compared to the same period in 2022. In total, 8,292 new companies were registered, as reported this Monday by the National Institute of Istica State (INE). ).
This last data represents a seventh month in which the creation of commercial companies increases compared to the previous year. In the context of 2023, however, the month of July has marked the lowest figure in terms of the number of companies created throughout the year.
In total, for the constitution of the more than 8,000 companies that were registered in this last month of July, capital worth 352.5 million euros was subscribed, 10.7% more than in the same month of the previous year. The average subscribed capital, on the other hand, decreased by 4.1% year-on-year, standing at 42,521 euros.
Every day 50 companies were dissolved
While the creation of companies increased, the dissolution of companies decreased in July, 4.8% compared to the same month in 2022, to a total of 1,546. In this way, every day of the month of July 50 companies closed their doors in Spain.
In the first seven months of the year, 11.2% more companies have been created than in the same period of 2022. For its part, the number of dissolved companies has decreased by 0.1% up to July.
In monthly terms (July over June), the formation of new companies plummeted 18.8%, its second largest monthly drop in a month of July in the last five years, only surpassed by that of July 2022 (-19, 4% ).
