“240 air-raid shelters have been opened in the city, beaches and cultural institutions have been closed, public events have been cancelled. There is a programme to use underground parking lots as air-raid shelters,” the official said.
It was reported earlier that Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport was forced to temporarily stop receiving planes heading to the airport. However, the airport resumed operations within a few hours.
Recall that on Sunday morning, Hezbollah carried out an airstrike against Israeli military targets in response to the assassination in Beirut of Fuad Shokr, commander of the organization’s military wing. The movement said that this was only the first stage of Hezbollah’s response. During Sunday’s attack, Hezbollah reportedly fired more than 320 rockets at 11 Israeli military targets. In particular, attacks were carried out against Israeli bases in the Golan Heights, as well as against the bases in Sahel, Mayrun and Zaatun.
