NATO and its allies are providing assistance to Ukraine, Stoltenberg said, answering a question about the alliance’s involvement in the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attack on the Russian region.
According to him, 99 percent of aid to kyiv comes from NATO members.
At the same time, he said that despite the preparation and consultations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, representatives of the alliance are not in command of the Ukrainian army.
“Ukrainians themselves must make such difficult decisions,” Stoltenberg said.
In August, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service reported that the attack by Ukrainian troops on the Kursk region was prepared with the participation of the intelligence services of the United States, Great Britain and Poland.
According to the intelligence service, military advisers from NATO countries are helping in the management of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that have invaded Russian territory and in the use of Western weapons.
In addition, the alliance members provide Ukraine with satellite intelligence data on the location of Russian troops in the area of operation.
