Singer Valeriya and her husband, music producer Iosif Prigozhin, have announced plans to build their ideal home from scratch after years of unsuccessful house-hunting.
Speaking with reporters from Channel Five, the couple explained what they envision for the project and why a fresh start felt necessary.
Valeriya described their current apartment, styled in art deco, as overly complex and difficult to maintain. “It’s just insane how complicated it is. That’s why the new house will be much simpler,” she said. Ideally, she added, the new home would serve as a weekend or holiday retreat.
Size matters, but not in the way one might expect. The couple doesn’t want a sprawling property. “I don’t want to get lost in rooms we don’t need,” Valeriya explained. Only a few rooms will be designated for guests. The rest will be tailored to their daily rhythm.
Prigozhin kept his wishlist modest. “All I need is a big, wide bed, a good bathroom, and a nice living room. I don’t need much more,” he said.
Valeriya, who remains active in her performance career, emphasized the need for a spacious wardrobe and a private area where she can have her hair and makeup done. She also wants space for massages, calling it a “little personal salon.”
Beyond interiors, the couple wants to add a touch of nature to their surroundings. Valeriya said she plans to plant a small vegetable and herb garden. “I’d love to grow some greens,” she noted. “It should look nice too — pretty flower beds. Of course, I won’t be planting potatoes. I don’t eat them at all.”
The vision is simple: a functional, cozy home designed to reflect their lifestyle without excess.
In a separate development, actors Alexander Ustyugov and Aglaya Shilovskaya recently purchased an apartment. Shilovskaya noted that Ustyugov personally handled the interior design.
