On this day, 65 years ago, the premiere of Sergei Bondarchuk’s film based on Mikhail Sholokhov’s story “The Fate of a Man” took place in the Drummer cinema. Bondarchuk played the lead role and received the Lenin Prize.
The role of Vanya was played by six-year-old Pasha Boriskin, the son of one of the Mosfilm actors. Pasha became friends with Uncle Seryozha and they spent a lot of time together. Filming continued normally until reaching the main stage.
Pasha Boriskin took the role seriously, but he was still embarrassed to shout in front of the entire team: “Folder! Dear! I knew you would find me!” Then Bondarchuk called the sound engineer and the three of them and the boy went to the field. Several audio takes were recorded there. Pasha tried so hard that he even became hoarse.
Then they filmed this scene, added sound to it and the result was a climactic scene, for which the whole country still cries.
