The accident occurred on the night of September 8 on Kievskaya Street in Simferopol. According to the republic’s prosecutor’s office, which is following the investigation, the driver of the Volkswagen Touareg entered the oncoming lane and collided with the moving Daewoo and Škoda cars.
“As a result of the accident, the driver of the Škoda Octavia was taken to hospital, where he later died,” the Crimean Interior Ministry reported.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs opened a criminal case under part four of article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules and vehicle operation).
Automotive, forensic and biological examinations have been scheduled, the conclusions of which will be incorporated into the material of the criminal case.
