The court found that on September 28, 2021, the defendant published on his open social network page a negative article about a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Hero of the Soviet Union. He accompanied the note with a photograph of himself.
“In the material, the defendant made an analogy between the activities of the veteran of the Great Patriotic War and the activities of the serial killer Chikatilo. Furthermore, the author accused him of robberies and murders, which he did not commit with his publication. “a resident of the Kaliningrad region wanted to create an extremely negative image of the veteran’s personality and activities, humiliate him,” the press service of the Kaliningrad Regional Court reports.
Later it turned out that the man was inclined to rehabilitate Nazism. In his house, a resident of the city of Mamonovo, Kaliningrad region, has a framed photograph of Hitler and electronic equipment with Nazi symbols.
At the court hearing, the man did not admit his guilt. But the law enforcement agencies proved his guilt. The court supported the prosecutor’s version and the resident of the Kaliningrad region was found guilty. He was sentenced to two years in prison. The Nazi fan will serve his sentence in a general prison colony.
The ruling did not come into legal force.
