The publication on the state-funded LSM website sparked a huge public outcry. Users criticized the authors of the article.
In response, the publishers stated that they publish “Pig Comics” every week, which talk about current events in Latvia and the world. Painted pigs can be construction workers, passengers or athletes.
A little later, LSM editor-in-chief Martha Tseravas admitted that in this case the authors “went too far” and apologized.
“In the wrong place and at the wrong time,” said the editor-in-chief, commenting on the publication that sparked public outrage.
The issue dedicated to the conflict in Ukraine was removed from the site.
