“The decision was made to change the high alert regime, which has been in effect in our region since last week, to an emergency regime,” the governor wrote.
The state of emergency is introduced from 6:00 p.m. on June 11 until further notice. Golubev clarified that in the region, due to soil drought, important agricultural crops were completely destroyed or significantly damaged. According to experts, farmers in the Rostov region lost about a third of their harvest.
In the region, just under 25 percent of crops are insured against natural disasters. The unprecedented heat in the region increases the risk of fires, requiring quick and coordinated action during the cleanup process.
