The final took place in Moscow at the VDNKh. The leitmotif of the contest, founded in 2008 with the support of fashion designers Vyacheslav Zaitsev and Valentin Yudashkin, is “ecological fashion.” According to the Omsk resident, we are talking about practicality, economy and finding solutions for a new useful existence from what many consider garbage. Even a cobweb in the corner of a room can spark creativity, says the young designer. That’s why the student called her collection “Teneta.”
“When creating it, I was inspired by family albums,” Sophia said. – The older generation is very thrifty not only with photographs, but also with things. And they are unique, touching, handmade. And they deserve to be examined more closely. My collection emerged from my grandmother’s textiles, worn t-shirts, lace fabrics, old-fashioned coats, lace, chiffon and rags. And it looks like I did it right. At the end of the day, all this reminds us of the childhood they all had.
