ACS creates a new company in which it will group its concession assets

Date: July 27, 2024 Time: 06:34:46

The ACS group has created ACS Infra, a new company that will group the company’s concession assets and will be directed by the current CEO of Iridium, Nuria Haltiwanger. ACS Infra will encompass the assets that the company operates through Abertis and Iridium, as well as with its Australian subsidiary Pacific Partnerships.

The Official Gazette of the Commercial Registry (Borme) points out that ACS Infra Tech&Mobility began its operations on December 19. The text also specifies that the firm’s activity is carried out in the fields of transportation, education, health, energy, digitalization and sustainable mobility, both ‘greenfield’ and ‘brownfield’.

Iridium and Pacific Partnerships will be in charge of the ‘greenfield’ branch, which corresponds to the projects that include the construction of infrastructure. The ‘brownfield’ activities (those that only include the operation of an asset), on the other hand, will be carried out by Abertis, mainly as a highway operator.

Simplification of the group’s organizational chart

The CEO of ACS, Juan Santamaría, explained in a conference with analysts last Friday that this new organizational chart seeks to simplify the company’s corporate structure through the integration of its operations. Its portfolio of joint projects already has 91 assets, with a total invested capital of 1,200 million euros directly (not counting the 28% it controls in the Texas highway SH-288 through Abertis).

There are 60 of these assets in Europe, 17 in North America and another 12 in Asia Pacific. Due to their typology, 42 assets correspond to buildings, 29 to roads, 18 to the railway sector and 2 to renewable energies.

Apart from ACS Infra, the new organizational chart of the multinational chaired by Florentino Pérez is divided into two other large branches: ACS Engineering and Construction, focused on civil works and general building projects, and ACS Soluciones Integrales, dedicated to engineering solutions in the sectors of Building, Digitalization, Technology, Energy, Industry and Natural Resources.

Under the perimeter of Engineering and Construction are mainly its companies Dragados, Hochtief and Flatiron, while Turner, Thiess, Sedgman, UGL, Laio and CPB Contractors operate under the Integral Solutions perimeter.
