All-Russian Forum on Inclusive Higher Education opens in Khabarovsk – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Date: July 27, 2024 Time: 10:19:55

Russian universities have been organizing such forums for several years. Thus, in 2023, the features of inclusive education were discussed at the Novosibirsk State Technical University, and in 2022 – at the Vyatka (Kirov) State University.

The forum brought together representatives of regional centers of educational and methodological resources for the training of people with disabilities and people with limited health capabilities (HHI), working at the base of educational organizations. The main goal is to discuss successful practices, exchange experiences and, most importantly, identify problems that require attention and try to find ways to solve them. This was especially highlighted by the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Olga Petrova, who addressed the participants with a welcome speech via videoconference.

– Conditions have been created for the teaching of children with disabilities and disabilities at all levels of the educational system. Our task is to support them, guaranteeing a “smooth” transition of the child from school to university,” said the vice minister.

The Minister of Education and Science of the Khabarovsk Territory, Victoria Khlebnikova, also spoke about this connection. She noted that at the school level in the region all conditions have been created so that special children can master educational programs, and in the vocational education system 26 organizations work in 80 areas where students with disabilities are trained. And every year their number grows. In addition to the number of limited specialists who help with the adaptation.

– The task is now being expanded. Every teacher, every teacher, must know the standards according to which these children are educated and create conditions within the framework of inclusion,” said Khlébnikova.

The forum will last until May 25. Participants will work on six themes and discuss the characteristics of inclusion in career guidance, employment, educational policy and other areas.
